Kinetics Within a Static Object
Wesley Neal Rasko is a contemporary sculptor of Canadian origin based in the Czech Republic. He works with laminated flat glass, cast glass, optical crystal, as well as stone and wood, combining them into architecturally constructed forms charged with internal tension.
In his hands, glass is not a decorative material, but a structure subjected to pressure — suspended between control and unpredictability, strength and fragility. He embraces its volatility and transforms it into compositions in which light activates depth, color and fracture. The object remains physically still, yet continually shifts as the viewer moves around it.
His works are represented in galleries and significant private and institutional collections across Europe, the United States and Asia.
